Home

I'm back! What's that? I forgot to tell you I was leaving. Yeah that sounds like something I would do. Sorry for the radio blogio silence. I went back to Kansas City to visit Grandpa Gumbo and my momma's siblings and offspring. It was a quick trip just for the weekend, but a work thing made it a tad bit longer. I was supposed to come back Sunday afternoon, but my boss found out where I was going and had me extend my trip so we could make a site visit to a Missouri Airport on Monday. It was cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey* while I was there. But I survived to make it back to my beloved Colorado just in time to soak up some 70 degree and sunny weather yesterday afternoon. Aaaahhhhhh. So nice. Turns out there is a teeny snow storm headed our way tonight, but technically it is about time we got some sort of winter-type weather down here in the flat regions.

Anyhoodles, I have much to tell you all about my trip, but I feel that will be best to do through a photo-montage, which will require me to download pictures from my camera. Thus I just wanted to stop by to say hello! Hi there. I'll get to that really soonish (for legality purposes I must disclose that I have been known to take a considerable amount of time to remember to download pictures from my camera...in fact I have been know to post several interim blog entries before remembering. Please prepare yourselves accordingly).

*the planner who accompanied my boss and I on our road trip made this comment and then explained, much to my personal sadness, how it is not as dirty a saying as it sounds. Turns out it is from cannon ball days when they used to secure them on the ship with these brass wedges called monkeys. When they would travel to areas with freezing weather, it would be so cold that the bass would contract and the balls would roll away or something to that effect.

  2. I'm glad you had fun - minus the weather. It's freezing here in Michigan and I'm a bit jealous of the beautiful weather you're having in Colorado.
